This is the Engineering and Event Blog that is maintained by the team. After each meeting one or more of the team members writes up what we did and what they enjoyed obout the meetings.

Meeting on 2-23-09

Today we made a new presentation to give to anyone who is interested in sponsoring the team so we can go to Denmark. I still can't believe we did it! GO LEGO GUARDS!

Monday Meeting

This monday, after hearing we were selected to go to go to Copengagen, we worked quite a bit on presentation.  We started with a round table as usual, and then worked on a 10 minute presentation that we can perfom for anyone.  So we wrote out our scripts, and had a couple hours to rehearse them.  We did the presentation computerless, which turned out fine, and then right after that we decided to do it as fast as we could, and did our over 5 minute presentation in 3:21 minutes, which was very fun.

Todays Busy Meeting

Today was very busy. First we worked more on our idea, Forest Guard, and tried to come up with solutions for potential problems. Then the CBS13 reporter and camera man came and interviewed us and we showed them some robot runs and our presentation. It turned out very nicely on the news so THANK YOU CBS13! Then we went and had to go fast to the Soroptimists International of Auburn which were meeting at Sizzler. We also did our presentation there and through there generous donations, we gained more then $500 to help our trip to Copenhagen become possible. Thank you Soroptimists for your generosity! Then we ate at Sizzler and then we went back to PCOE and worked more on our idea. This was a very fun and eventful meeting.

Monday Meeting

This monday, we did quite a bit.  In the morning, we rehersed our 10 minute presentation for a bit, than the CBS 13 news crew came in, and filmed for about an hour.  Right after that, we headed out to the Soroptomists club, and presented there, and mad $592 dollars, which was amazing!  When we got back to the school, we worked with the robot a bit, and went over some questions we've had about forest guard.

Another Monday Meeting (Kind of Repetetitive Titles, Huh?)

On Monday, our team had testing; we had it early, beacause we will be in Copenhagen during regular testing. After our testing, we went straight up to our meeting. This was was the last Lego Guards meeting before the Children's Climate Call in Copenhagen. At this meeting, Bobby and Faith worked with Alan to finish placement on Google Earth, Aydan and Al worked on Software, and Drew and I finished working on and reviewing the research binders. We also signed tons of thank-you cards.
