Lego Guard team brings home trophies

A local youth robotics team took home a first place trophy from the Northern California FLL Championship Tournament Jan. 25 in Fremont. The Placer Hills School-based Lego Guards team members were awarded top honors in the project presentation category for their early wildfire detection system Forest Guard. The team won the second place robot performance award with a high score of 315 and was also given an award for the “craziest robot attachment.” Mentor Alan LeVezu was honored as this year’s mentor/coach of the year.
